The historic city of Tiberias is located in Northern Israel and borders the Sea of Galilee ("the Kinneret"). Known for its lively tourist scene, Tiberias offers many attractions, including an ancient sector where tombs of prominant Jewish figures such as Maimonides can be found. Many hotels in Tiberias offer tours of the area and are located a mere walking distance from the Kinneret and its renovated boardwalk. ITC-Tiberias Manager Tal Amsalem: "Our goals for the following year are to reach out to more children from the area, nurture a new generation of tennis talents and cultivate our programs for the developmentally challenged as well as our Arab-Jewish coexistence programs".
In recent years, the Israel Tennis Center-Tiberias has become a flagship for Arab-Jewish coexistence. Through the ITC's Doubles Coexistence Program, children from Tiberias and the Arab village of Ilabon play "Doubles Tennis" together. The purpose of the program is to instill values of tolerance and cooperation between Arabs and Jews through tennis, fitness training and sport psychology workshops facilitated by certified mental trainers.
We invite you to visit the Israel Tennis Center in Tiberias. Come and play, meet the children we serve, receive sight-seeing tips from our staff and experience the excitement we feel every day. Join us!
