Amir Weintraub wins his second consecutive Futures tournament at the ITC – Ramat Hasharon: he beat Rice again
Amir Weintraub, the first seed in the Joyce Eisenberg $10,000 Futures Tournament, which took place at the ITC Ramat Hasharon, won the Futures tournament for the second week in a row, after beating British player David Rice in the final for the second time. It was a repeat of last week s final between the two top seeds, the match lasted 40 minutes and was won easily 6-1 6-1 by the israeli.
Weintraub, teamed up with American John-Paul Fruttero to also win the doubles title, with a 6-7 7-6 13-11 win over the British duo of David Rice and Sean Thornley.
In his semi final, Weintraub was leading his Israeli opponent Gilad Ben Zvi (7th seed) 6-1 3-1, when Ben Zvi had to retire due to injury. David Rice (2nd seed) reached the final after beating Noam Okun (3rd seed) 6-3 2-6 6-4 in the other semi final.
