A Tu Bishvat ceremony in honor of Robert Amrosi

Posted February 15th, 2012

On Thursday 9th February 2012, a special Tu Bishvat ceremony in honor of Robert Amrosi, who recently donated dozens of olive trees to different ITC’s, took place at the ITC – Tiberias.

The ceremony was held in Tiberias, close to Robert’s home, as it was the center to which received the first olive trees. Present at the event were: Danny Gelley – CEO of the ITC, Ilan Maman – Manager of the ITC – Jerusalem, Lilo Tzarfati – Manager of the ITC – Haifa, Shaul Zohar – Manager of the ITC – Kiryat Shmona, Tal Amsalem – Manager of the ITC – Tiberias, the center’s children, the participants of the Embrace Program and the counselors Residents of Ramat Tiberias Hostel for adults with special needs.

Danny Gelley gave Robert an appreciation shield and pictures of the trees that have already been planted at the centers in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tiberias. Robert also received a personal gift from the managers of the ITC – Haifa and Jerusalem. At the end of the ceremony, as per the festival’s tradition, all the guests enjoyed some dried fruits and then went to plant trees and plants in the center’s grounds.

Danny Gelley: “In my job as CEO of the Israel Tennis Centers, nearly every day I meet good people and Robert Amrosi is definitely such a person. To me, the olive trees that he donated, which are setting roots and which are already starting to flourish in the centers, represent the love of our people and our country. These are values, which we at the ITC, try to embody. It is such fun to see the children of the Embrace Program, of the Special Olympics and of the High Performance Tennis Program plant trees all together, with the residents of the hostel for Tu Bishvat. It’s one big celebration!”

Tal Amsalem: “This was a special way to show our gratitude to the person who donated trees to our centers. Everyone who was here today enjoyed the beautiful weather and the great atmosphere. The children and the residents got to plant trees at the centers and they promised to check up on them during the years to come”.
